According to the National Office of Drug Control Policy, Recovery-ready workplaces are an important part of a systematic national response to drug use and addiction. Because adopting recovery-ready workplace policies can result in savings, through reduced turnover and increased productivity, and because becoming certified as a recovery-ready workplace can generate positive publicity for employers, it is often said that adopting recovery-ready workplace policies is not simply the right thing to do, it makes good business sense as well.

PEER Wellness Center
PEER Wellness Center, the state's inaugural and largest recovery community center, commemorated a decade of serving the communities of Idaho's 4th Health District on June 25th, 2025. PEER is a safe place for individuals and their family members to receive free recovery support services from others who are in recovery themselves. It is a confidential and judgement-free environment where people can connect and receive the social and practical support needed to heal and recover. The support provided at a Recovery Community Center compliments other crisis and clinical services in the community by “walking with” individuals as they navigate “the system”, and by providing ongoing one-on-one and group peer support.
“While crisis centers offer services for a day for a person in crisis, recovery community centers offer recovery for a lifetime. Recovery community centers are where hope lives.”

McCall, Idaho
The ROC
The ROC is a satellite Recovery Community Center of PEER Wellness Center that serves Valley County and the surrounding communities. Established in 2019, as part of the Valley County Opioid Response Project (VCORP), The ROC leverages the experience and resources of PEER Wellness Center to provide accessible peer-based recovery support services that address the unique barriers to recovery in a rural community. The invaluable collaboration and coordination of care between community partners substantially increases the long-term recovery of those we serve.
Council, Idaho
The ROC in Council
Funded by Opioid Settlement Funds and the generosity of the Adams County Board of County Commissioners, this grass-roots recovery community organization has been providing peer-based recovery support services to Adams County and the surrounding areas since 2023. Led by a long-time community member living in long-term recovery, The ROC in Council collaborates with community partners to address the unique barriers and challenges that residents in a "frontier" community face.

Peer Supports Academy
Dedicated to increasing the capacity and efficacy of the Peer Support Workforce, Peer Supports Academy provides training for individuals in long-term recovery that prepares them for certification at both the state and national level, hosts workshops and focused niche training that prepares peer support workers to deliver evidence-based and effective recovery support in a variety of environments.
